Редкий для меня случай, кстати, когда видеоряд полностью совпадает с моим эмоциональным и эээ... вкусовым ощущением песни По-моему, Black Box Messiah такая и есть - монохромно-мерцающая, отрывисто-истеричная - и в то же время стильная. В общем, зачОтное видео.

After the writing/recording process and the subsequent touring of Pandora’s Piñata I felt a bit drained of new ideas and the joy of writing songs was simply not there anymore. During this time we also took a joint decision with AnnLouice that she would step down as the singer of the band. We’ve always had problems combining Annlouice’s work schedule with DSO gigs, a frustrating situation for both us and many promoters trying to book us. But it now had reached a point where any kind of tour/gig/recording plans were made impossible due to the fact the she would basically be preoccupied for the upcoming 2-3 years. If there was to be a band at all we needed to make a change.
I'd also like to point out that there were/are no hard feeling over the decision and we’re all still friends and stuff.
Since there was not much band activity for a year or so, me and the rest of the band pursued other endeavors instead and I wasn’t sure when/if we were gonna play again. We discussed some possible solutions to the singer situation but to be honest we didn’t put too much effort into it. Personally I was quite happy and content with the 3 albums we had released and thought it might be time to do move on to do other things. We’ve had this band for over 10 years and it’s been one hell of a ride!
But things changed when Johan one day suggested we all should listen to a youtube clip. When I heard it I think my reaction went something along the lines of “ What the f**k, she sounds like Tori Amos... Call her now!!”
Said and done we contacted her and to our delight she was interested to give it a try. After a month or so we met up in Stockholm to play some old songs and we quickly realized we needed to look no further, it was an immediate click with the band, both socially and musically.
As a person I rarely get this excited or exstatic over anything. It doesn’t mean I’m a gloomy person, on the contrary, I’m quite cheerful. But it has been a looong time since I’ve been this excited about writing music and the atmosphere while rehearsing and hanging out with this lineup is simply the most creative and fun environment I’ve ever been in. It feels as if we have recruited my favorite singer/composer to the band and the collaboration just couldn’t go any smoother – in other words, pure joy.
So with this I’d once again like to welcome Kristin Evegård to our ranks and express my deepest gratitude and joy that we’ve found someone who energized the whole band and made it possible for us to continue this crazy & lovely ride!
