". . There was so much to say about the Montreal concert. I can't even begin. Sorry for talking so much . . . but I have a good reason, trust me.
I showed a few people on the forums my Eva doll which I made to give to the band (If people didn't see her,
here is a link). Well, before the concert, I went out back of the Metropolis for a bit, as a few people were back there and there were buses. After awhile, a few people exited the bus . . . then Marco and Tuomas were there! They called us over and signed some autographs and took some pictures with us. I got to give Marco the doll before the show and Tuomas put it in the bus. They were so nice!
I have to say that the organisation on the part of the venue wasn't very good. They sent the VIPs around the corner at first, and we were all mixed in with the general admission concert goers. Then they sent us around front and it was a bit confusing. But that's okay.
Paradise Lost was awesome, but I felt so bad for them because the crowd wasn't very nice to them. They cheered really loudly when they said that it was their last song :S and one guy even yelled "YOU SUCK". I really enjoyed them, though, and I was close enough to get some pics. I'll definitely go out and get their latest CD. I hope that they don't get a bad impression of Canada from that.
K so, the show was soooo amazing. I was in the second row for awhile but the shoving was pretty bad so I ended up in the fifth row by the end of it. I couldn't see much but that was fine, it was really fun. I had a crowdsurfer dropped directly on my head . . . that kinda hurt. They all sounded great, though, and even if some of them were sick it really didn't show. They looked and sounded at the top of their game. Anette was amazing live and she did wonderfully with the old material. Nemo and Sleeping Sun especially were beautiful with her voice. One person yelled "ANETTE SUCKS" and she didn't even let it phaze her . . . she said
"Mhm, love you too. Kiss kiss!" and then moved on.
But okay, I'm babbling. I just really wanted to mention that during Eva, Anette actually had the doll I made with her ONSTAGE and was singing with it in her hand!! I felt like a total idiot but I burst into tears and didn't stop. I was just so so so moved that she did that. People turned around and asked me "Are you okay?!" and I was just saying
"That's my doll!". Probably no one will believe me, even here, but anyway!
After the show there was a meet and greet for the VIP, which was great though the security really rushed us through it. The band members were so so friendly! And Anette . . . talk about a sweetheart. When I got to her, I thanked her for taking my doll onstage. She said "Oh! That was your doll, was it?" and Marco, who was beside her, nodded and said "Yes, she's the Eva-girl!". Anette clasped my hands like we were old friends and told me that the doll would be taken onstage every night while Eva was being performed! I don't know how I managed, but I walked out of there and didn't end up crying until I left. I don't mean to be fangirlish but it's really overwhelming and I'm so touched.
I'm sorry for going off like that. I'd like to say I'm speechless, but I think this says otherwise. The concert went past my expectations and the band showed everyone that they are doing very much as well as they say they are. Congratulations, and best of luck on the rest of your tour.
I'm seriously thinking of getting an Eva tattoo now. I have no tattoos but that will likely be my first".
