Просто песня такие ассоциации навеяла, с тремя вышеперичисленными песнями. И если с Last of the Wilds и I want my tears Back понятно почему (в основном из-за присутствия Троя), то вот явную такую параллель со Скруджем я так и не смогла найти, но ощущение схожести оставалось несколько часов.

Yes, because NW had two paths in front of them, concerning the official presentation of Floor and Troy: get back to something bombastic, showing the full potentiality of the band and thus leaving everybody speechless OR composing a simple song, good enough to keep the hopes high about the full length. Needless to say that the band chose the second path…
Elan is a straight and calm song, with the drum in 4/4, harmless guitar (though Emppu strikes very heavy metal poses in the video…. But there’s nothing heavy in this song, let alone epic), a persistent irish tune really similar to ‘I Want My Tears Back’…well, what did you expect with someone like Troy in the band?
Of course Holopainen’s composing seems much more intense and magniloquent, than irish tradition (sorry but here the passage is not clear even in Italian -______-)
Apparently Floor sings eating air (especially in the first part of the song), but the song is a typical ‘grower’: it is dull at the beginning, ma after a second listening it turns really catchy and piercing.
As far as a single is concerned, Elan is pretty good but it has some cons.Along with Elan, it comes a b-side that can be ignored in the band career.
It seems a timid try of taking back an harmonic sense from Oceanborn (see also the white owl in Elan’s video….).
IN the single we can also listen to a second version of Elan, which is, funnily enough, more epic. Useless, but still better than the mutilated radio edit.
Despite of the surprise effect in the amount of less infinite, I must reassure the worried fans and hold detractors. Of course there are those who scream that Nightwish’s end is near, ma probably this is premature, because this Elan really shows nothing of what it is to come (Endless Forms, of course…)
Elan might be the son of a withered inspiration, or a intentional constraint, but we can only guess. What we know for sure is that we will read about Nightwish soon, and this is the promise that seals my vote to Elan: SIX/TEN

)))) Туомас, вот кто, самый главный в этом деле. А вообще молодцы, можно связаться с сайтом Альмагама, и отправить, ваш перевод туда, там всегда хорошие тексты и ваш думаю, будет там не хуже. Хотя, перевод названия, можно взять, как именно на том сайте "Порыв" - более нЯшНо звучит...
