Интервью Анетт для радио X3M
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mrxZyuKL_A
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-7MLLh6vr4
и его перевод на английский пользователем onewiththewaves с офф. форума (в скобках приведены комментарии переводчика):

Anette Olzon meets the A-team

Interviewer: No, but look! It works perfectly with that piercing of yours
Anette agrees and says that it is important since everybody sees her. It is the radio after all and then you have to look good.

I: We actually have with us today Nightwish lead singer Anette Olzon *round of applause*
I: How are you doing? You said that you were a bit tired now when you are in Finland, that it has something to do with the air?
A: Yes, it is the air. We don't have any air in Skåne, where I live. We're too close to Danmark.

I: So there is more air in Finland?
A: Yes, there is many more forests and so on. We just have a lot of fields and and farmers with pig pee and so on. :p

I: And a bridge!
A: Yes, and it is really great. (It's the Öresundsbron they are referring too. It connect Sweden with Danmark You can travel from Malmö directly to Copenhagen)

I: You have had a completely fantastic long tour and it is soon to be over. What are your feelings towards that? On saturday, after the show, will you be on spring vacation our autumn break?
A: I don't think there will be any summer vacation no. I won't rest completely.

I: But how are your feelings now towards the last gig. You have played 196 gigs.
A: It feels pretty good. Of course it will feel strange, but it feels good to take a break.

I: What is the first thing you will do when you are free?
A: *phew* Well, we will have a huge party on sunday. The worlds biggest party! I will party *yeey*

I: So how is it on tour? How is it with drinking and smoking? Do you join the guys on the partys?
A: No, I never party. I always go straight to bed and asleep.

(So they continue talking about the party on Sunday for a while, and one of the interviews ask what dance moves that are in at the moment among the NW people. )
A:*laughs* Well, just look at me on stage for that! I just jump around like a jumping fool. I'm totally crazy and don't think for a moment what I'm doing. I just do it and look weird. I love to dance. I go to dance classes and so on.

I: We have a rockring here in the studio (you know that circle that you swing around with your hips), can you handle that too?
A: No, no. I'm not a belly dancer.

I: So no Beyoncé moves?
A: No, more like "halo" moves.

I: So how are the crowd dancing then?
A: Oh, but that is more headbanging from them *show horns and says Hep, hep.

I: So it's hard to get inspiration to new dance moves then?
A:No, but I do my thing, and just go with my pop cute style, and then the guys can look supercool. I tried to headbang during the first gigs, butI have problems with my neck so that didn't turn out too well.

I:So just how old are you did you say? *jokes around and talks in a weird voice* - I can't be around to drink and smoke... and I have neck pains as well!
A: I'm actually 38, so I think I have a bit right to be a bit tired. I have lived for a pretty long time.

I: So how is it going with the Finnish language?
A:*sighs* It hasn't gone too well. The language is so weird. I sang for a couple of weeks ago at a Finnish festival in Stockholm because I wanted to celebrate the country. I have a Finnish boyfriend and he has told me a thousand times how to pronounce the words right "no it sounds like this!!" , and I'm just... *sigh* The H is just completely hopeless because it doesn't exist in the Swedish language. But I actually felt that I did pretty good, even though I got some comments about it. But many Finnish people thought I did really well.

I: Given the conditions, and the neck... Wink2
A: But really the neck is a problem. I go to the chiropractor and everything.

I: is it some sort of a whiplash wound or something?
A:I don't know at all. It all started when I went to a chiropractor, when I was about 20 and after that it has just continue. I just think I have a bad neck. I would like to headbang, it's cozy. But then after second thought, I have seen the guys in Pain, who headbangs like crazy on stage, how much pain they are in the morning after. I don't believe that it's good for the head at all and that it's plain dangerous and that the risk for stroke becomes much greater. They are free to do it,but I want to live until I'm 105 so that's also why I don't drink or smoke at all and live really healthy. Maybe I can die in three years but at least I want to try.

(She then talks about being a vegetarian, and we have read in her blog that it didn't work for her, so I skip that part. )
After that they have a little battle, to see who can speak the best Finnish and hold up a little conversation. It doesn't go too well but Anette wins by saying "Vittu".

I: Beaten out with the word Vittu...
A: Well, what can I say.. Wink2

I: So is it like that? Do you feel you have to fake a more rough lifestyle than what you really have?
A:Well, I know that I got a review from the concert at Metal town, in the paper Aftonbladet. They wrote that I looked like a cake baking Madicken( a story figure by the writer Astrid Lindgren) mum. I looked too nice on stage, waving and so on. I sighed when hearing that and the guys said: You have to find some more attitude...
And I'm really trying, but I am a nice person and it's hard to be cool then I think.

I: But do someone have to be so cool in order to play in Nightwish?
A:No.. no. I actually find that comment about being a cake baking mum accomplishment. I am a Madicken mum, and I want to live in a Madicken house. I think it's cute.

I: You have a cute nickname in Finland as well, "Arska".
A: Yeah, I name myself that as well. I think it's sweet.

I: Who is that has given you that name?
A:It was the boys, who gave to me during the time when my name hadn't been revealed yet. So if there was a party they said: And Arska is coming too.

I: So you like it?
A: Yeah, I like it. But I have found it's many men that is named like that.

I: Yeah, Arska means like "Angry". Like a big worker of some sort. Arnold Schwarzenegger is called "Arska".
A: But I am actually a bit rough. The boys don't have an easy time with me. I am a woman, but I'm a pretty stern woman.

I: Speaking on that, how is it working with the boys on tour?
A:Yeah, it's going pretty well. I have become much nicer against them. I was pretty harsh in the beginning. I complained a lot at them and told them constantly to stop smoking.

I: Did they smoke inside the bus?
A: Of course. It's Finns we are talking about! Hello... are there any rules for Finnish people at all? No... *laughs* If there is a smoking forbidden sign... oh, yeah let's smoke even more! I'm such a legal following woman. If it stands "do not touch the button", I don't. I don't know if it's very Swedish, but it feels like that.
In a coca cola commercial, there was a guy sitting next to a red button. And of course he press it and is over flowed with coca cola bottles. I would never do that! I would just sit there and looking scared at the button.

I: Now looking back, has it been many little things, you have made sure to fix?
A: Well... they were terribly bad at communicating. I mean this thing with sitting down and having a meeting. That didn't exist.

I: So you tried to fix that?
A:I actually tried having Monday meetings and I'm not kidding about this.I told them "we have to have meetings". And it was only me talking! The others just sat there quiet. And I was like "so today I thought we could talk about this.." And they just: Mm... With other words nothing happened, and I think it went three weeks and then I gave up.

I: So how is the communication now? Do you have meetings now?
A:No, we don't need that. We have other people who take care of what is wrong. But within the band we talk like friends. When you have travelled so much together you have gone though all conflicts there possibly is. So you have grown together and gotten to know each other really. Now we know how Tuomas is, and how Anette is and that it's perfectly all right that we are different.

I: So do you have any other gossip maybe you would like to tell us?
A:Well, there was this piece in Sieska which I found pretty interesting. In found out that they had been outside my apartment and taking pictures, and then taken pictures of Tuomas house with a helicopter. They had first tried to rent a boat, but that wasn't possible. They had also gone to Emppu's little hut and so on. I found that pretty interesting and I immediately thought about when they had been outside my apartment and so on. No one in Sweden would do that I mean.
When I first entered the band they were outside my house in the bushes and I was in the bathroom and I recall the neighbour calling and whispering:They are still searching though your mailbox...

I: You should have gone out offering them some coffee and cookies.
AVery Happyefinitely. I would have said: Welcome, please take some cookies, and you're welcome to take a picture and then leave. If I would have known they were there I would have done that.

I: With taking everything into consideration, would you still today have accepted the job?
A: Absolutely. There have been times when I have torn my hair and wondered what I had put myself into and thought "I can't do this".

I: Do you cry a lot?
A: I used to, but I have become much more stronger. I have grown like a person and yes, I would still accept the job. I was being warned, but I was pretty cocky when starting. I didn't understand how crazy the entire situation was. It hasn't been that bad really. The only bad side of the coin is those people who send death threats and are just awful on the internet.
But the only thing you can do is to not bother about it, and think that they most often don't do anything serious about their intentions.

I: Do you have security protection?
A:No, we don't. Not like that. There have been situations when there has been guards, and there still have been people being able to get on stage trying to get close to you. There was someone who tried to kiss me once.
But really even though all of that, I don't want any real security around me. I read about Tokio Hotel, and that all the journalists had to go though a security check in order to be allowed to go into the hotel. I can understand if there is a hysteria surrounding them, but us? We are pretty old all of us. Almost everyone is closing up on 40. But if things would get even bigger, I guess we will have to have guards then.

I: Do you ever get scared?
A: I have been afraid several times on stage, every time when I turn my back against the crowd and so.

I: Where have you been scared?
A:I think South America was pretty scary. I have explained that with since I'm from Sweden were we are pretty distanced physically. We don't run around and hug and pull each other. If I go around in Helsingborg and people recognize me, which many people do, no one ever approach me.They maybe look a little, but that's all. It's the same thing in Finland. It's only when people get drunk that they get more physical with people they don't know very well.
So when I got there, and they practically stormed the hotel, and stood outside the elevators when you got out of it. I stood at the gym at the hotel and there were 50 people staring and taking pictures at me. Even pulling me in the cheeks.
It was very hard for me to understand that they actually meant well. It took me a long time for me to realize that, and at that time I only wanted to go home. I couldn't take it when they stood and banked at the windows outside the tour bus. It was very stressful and I have a hard time when there is too many people. If I enter a room with 50people staring at me, if I'm not on stage I get a little panic attack.

I:When I went to South America in 2004, already then there was a lot of Nightwish T-shirts and so on. That you even come there is a huge thing.
A: And they are simply amazing down there too. When we came to Manaus (?) that lies in the jungle, the people were standing at the airport and gave us presents and just screamed. There were even little children. It was totally surreal. Maybe the boys are more used to it,but for me. I didn't get it. America is also a bit like that. They are standing outside the bus and want to have autographs, and you come out totally drained and with the hair standing at all edges.
And they ask: Can we take a picture with you? And you feel like: ugh... can't you wait until I maybe have some mascara? :p

I: So if this was hard for you, as a response which is the gig you remember being the best?
A: Metaltown in Gothenburg (Göteborg) was totally amazing.

I: Was it maybe because it was more close to home?
A:*longing sigh* I really wish we could play more in Sweden. I'm begging and pleading, "please more gigs in Sweden". We actually have many fans there.

I: You can take up that on the next monday meeting.. Wink2
A:Yeah, I have to do that. My demand for the next tour will be like "a t least 15 shows in Sweden". So playing in Sweden is amazing, and I love Norway as well. And Finland. And Paris. The fans are totally crazy and wonderful. I have never felt as welcome as I have been there. They sing along and have signs that say "we love you".
And I spoke French in school, so I can practise some there. I usually sing "Frere Jaques"(bad spelling yes Wink2) an I always think about my school mistress Liljawhen I sing it. It's like: Look, what I can!

I: Alright. We have a old clip with you from a previous interview, and then we askedyou who you would like to make out with in the band the most.

(It was Emppu).
A: Oh, yes I remember that. It was a tough question.

I: What did Emppu say after that?
A: I don't think he knows.

I: So have you maked out with him?
A: No.

I: He hasn't let you in or?
A: Or I haven't Wink2 No.. *laughs*

I: So would it still be Emppu today?
A:Well, he is my best friend in the band and the one I like the most. We have been so tight from the beginning. We are very alike in many ways. And he is so terribly cute as well. So, yes it would still be Emppu.

I: Now before the Hartwall gig, which song do you look most forward to sing?
A: There is so many secrets, but one of the little secrets then.

I: You have many secrets then... so one of the secrets.
A: Yes... Smile

I: Then we'll have to wait for that. Thank you so much for coming.
