новое интервью:
Well, I've tried to gather the best parts of this interview:
http://www.rafabasa.com/index2.php?url=/mo...le&sid=4958
- Tuomas comments Anette's voice:
In my opinion, Anette's voice is powerful than Tarja but in a different way, Tarja's voice on NW was dramatic, cold and made you to dream, and Anette's voice is more warm, human and real, and it is closest to the album's history.
- Tuomas and Anette answering the question about how will sound Anette on the old songs:
I'll only try the songs I can sing and that sounded better with my voice , 'cause I know it would be silly to copy Tarja's tone. She had a classical opera's voice and I don't, but the songs, melodys etc aren't opera so I can sing it.
Tuomas also says that they don't want to forget the old songs.
- The interviewer only says good things about the album and ask Tuomas about the reaction of the fans who have already heard it, and Tuomas says that is a positive shock to most of them. But the both agree that is not an album with easy absorption and when you listen to it a couple of times you see how glorious it is.
- When asked about the orchestrations, Tuomas says the orchestra is part of the band, part of the songs. Because is not like Metallica - already have the songs and put the orchestra in some parts. On NW the scoring is a piece of the music since the very beginning.
- Tuomas talking about 'The Poet And The Pendulum':
I've composed it when was mentally different, with a lot of hate, a time when there's nothing besides arguments and that's why is a sad story at the same time. What I think is most important to don't let a 14-mins song get boring is to do it very real and interesting, a song that can almost live, and it was a challange but I think it's the best song we've ever done. I can't explain more because I believe you'd understand better if you read the lyrics. Specially with this songs, I'd like the people to read the lyrics while they're listening because they would understand the meaning of all the effects, scorings, emotions etc.
- Anette talking about 'Cadence of Her Last Breath':
"Cadence of her last breath" is one of my favourites and I have I different opinion than Tuomas(*He likes Cadence less than the others songs), I think is a good song and if anybody in the band has liked it, Cadence wouldn't be here. And was also one of the first songs I've sang with them, that's why is a special song for me. Almost one year after I sung it for the first time, I still like it's lyrics and still has this attraction I've seen before.
- Tuomas says that the album was mixed once more (As you already knew ;P)
- The interviewer asks Anette about her own work on Dark Passion Play:
I really like it and I'm very critical with me. But there's anything in the album that I'm not happy with. I'm really glad because I could work with so professional guys who helped me so much.
Also Tuomas says he is very happy with Anette's work, and didn't change a single note. And he says they'll explore Anette's voice and talent as a musician on the next albuns.
- They're not going to start the gigs with "The Poet And The Pendulum" but didn't say what songs will do that.
- They'll start the european tour in february!!!
And to finish, a funny question actually :
- So, you're not trying some kind of choreography for the gigs? I'm saying that because many parts of the album are theatrical and maybe could have elements like dancers(!!!!!!!!!!!!) or something interesting for the new gigs.
Tuomas - No choreaographys. What we have about it is lights, pyrotechny,projections... This is what we're planning but any choreography or more people on the stage.
