While your lips are still red
While Your Lips Are Still Red - реально потрясная песня!
The video of the track "While Your Lips Are Still Red", written by Tuomas as the main theme track for the upcoming Finnish feature film "LIEKSA!", is now available in YouTube from the link below. The track features Marco on vocals, Tuomas on keys and Jukka on drums. Though "While Your Lips Are Still Red" is not exactly a Nightwish-track, it will be included as a bonus track on Nightwish's forthcoming "Amaranth" CD-Single.
The movie "LIEKSA!", directed and written by renown Finnish movie director Markku Pölönen, premiers in Finland during September 2007.
Sweet little words makes the silence
Not so young, heartfelt love not heartache
Dark hair fall, catch in the wind
Light the way, the sight of a cold world
Kiss,
While your lips are still red
While he’s still in silent rest
While bosom is still untouched
Unveiled on another hair
While the hand’s still without a tool
Drown into eyes while they’re still blind
Love while the night still hides the withering dawn
First day of love never comes back
Compassion, its power’s never a wasted wrong
"The violin, the poet’s hand
Every thawing heart plays your theme with care

Nemo...
I don't want to translate the whole article but there's some new info in it.
- The Poet and the Pendulum is a dark and melancholic but a quite calm song
- Bye Bye Beautiful is a really heavy song with Marco's raw vocals
- The Islander is an instrumental
- The album as a whole is more majestic than Once
- The album features the heaviest moments of Nightwish so far
- The journalist believes the band can get even further with Anette on vocals and congratulates the band for making the right choice
This appeared in Iltalehti today on June 15. The comments about the album are rather overall but here goes:
NIGHTWISH NEW ALBUM LISTENED TO BY FINNISH MEDIA
This is what the new Nightwish album is like!
Iltalehti listened to the much-awaited new album.
Iltalehti was there when NW had invited some representatives of Finnish media to listen to Dark Passion Play at Finnvox studios. Tuomas Holopainen and the fresh singer Anette Olzon were obviously nervous as the first melodies burst out to be heard by outsiders.
- I haven’t had the courage to look at anyone’s face yet, Holopainen confessed as the listening session was half-way through.
The stormy past of the group isn’t left unclear in this new album. As Holopainen has always said, many things from deep within the soul have been written on the album. From the lyrics in Bye Bye Beautiful and Master Passion Greed there can be deduced frustration and also quite much 'blaming' between the lines. Holopainen, however, doesn’t want to analyse what he thought of Tarja Turunen and Marcelo Cabuli at the moment of writing the songs.
- I have never said anything about the lyrics and I won’t say anything now, he summarizes.
Anyone expecting the album to be a radio-friendly hit parade is disillusioned at the first 14-minute epic which begins the album. The upcoming single Amaranth is already somewhat easier stuff. As the album proceeds, it is clear that NW hasn’t slipped to an ‘artsey’ (= too artistic) side – there is still lot of material on this album to make one move both one’s head and feet.
Nevertheless, as Holopainen has said also himself, the album hardly can be appreciated fully at the first listening but rewards only after repeated listenings.
As before, the songs are accompanied with pompous arrangements – there is orchestra, kettledrums, choirboy…
And it also becomes clear that all doubts about Anette the new singer and about the strength of her voice can be buried. She very obviously brings warmth to NW compared to Tarja whose voice is more like a cold mountain brook. (tunturi = not actually a mountain but a fjeld in Lapland), and for example in the final song Meadows of Heaven, the hair on the skin of the listener begins to stand.
Today (Friday June 15), European music media in London has the chance to hear the album, as well.

NW celebrated their new album yesterday at Finnvox studios and later at the Inferno (?). The pompous album makes one think of the world of movies. – I am still interested in making movie music, but let’s check this rock section first, Tuomas cracked.
(Anette photo)
Anette thinks it is the most important thing that the band itself likes what it has done. She also has nothing against if the album is liked by other people.

Tuomas didn’t have courage to look at anyone’s face during the listening session.
A shorter story in connection with the above article:
The group returned yesterday from LA where they made two videos directed by Antti Jokinen. The shooting of the videos was especially exhausting for Anette Olzon who had to be in front of the camera most.
- Antti is a great director. He knew exactly how to put the people in the right mood. When I was supposed to be angry in the video, he made me angry for real and the end result is excellent, Anette laughs.
Amaranth-video uses themes from the Finnish classic painting Wounded Angel by Albert Edelfelt (here the newspaper is wrong – I know the artist is Hugo Simberg ; the painting can be viewed here)
The idea was Jokinen’s.
- We got to spend two days in Disneyland and I also saw the Stanley Cup final and Teemu Selänne celebrating. Great, Tuomas says.
The new album comes out on Sep 26.
- It is the most important thing that we like the album, but it is nice if somebody else likes it too, Anette smiles.
The stormy past of the group isn’t left unclear in this new album. As Holopainen has always said, many things from deep within the soul have been written on the album.
Here is the mesta.net article in whole. Sorry if it was already translated.
DPP is a harder album than Once.
NW presented the contents of their new album to about ten media people at Finnvox studios on Thursday. Also present were four members of the band (all except Jukka).
When the first notes of the new album sounded in the studio control room, there was true anxiety in the air. The beautiful and melancholic opening track The Poet... wandered in sweet spheres, but the second track BBB spit out very heavy metal and Marco's raw and manly singing.
The further the 75-minute album progressed, the more evident it was that it is very versatile, the scale is from speed metal to Irish-type folk and radio-hit type heavy pop. There is also one instrumental piece, The Islander. Also the band's hardest moments are to be found on the album.
It is also clear that Eva is not the best song on the album - the best song could easily be Amaranth, the next single, that sticks like a gum.
Anette's clean and clear singing gives an obvious refreshment shot to NW's music. One could assume that NW will proceed with Olzon even further, as the singer's voice is now less irritating to the wide public. The band's boys can be proud of their choice.
DPP has cost even 500,000 euros and you can hear that. There is a tremendous wealth of material on the album, but to balance the epic moments there are sensitive, acoustic moments. At least now Tuomas, with the band, witnesses that they can make any kind of music.
The new album proved to be a success already at the first listening, but to criticise it fully would need more listenings. DPP is such a monstrous package.

- Bye Bye Beautiful is a really heavy song with Marco's raw vocals
- The Islander is an instrumental
Жаль, что это не "Seven Days to The Wolves", но мне все равно интересно. Wish I Had An Angel И та и другая на втором месте в трек-листе, и та и другая - "is a really heavy song with Marco's raw vocals".

Cadence Of Her Last Breath
